Victoria Accommodation Perfect For Long Stays
You are coming to Victoria, BC for a getaway and you are looking for the perfect Victoria accommodation to suit your needs. You like a quiet and peaceful location, want easy access to downtown shops, and if it happens to be on a bike and hiking trail even better. How about we through in a brewpub with an amazing restaurant attached to it? Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? It is and this place really does exist. It is called Spinnakers Gastro Pub And Guesthouse and it is cross between a bed and breakfast and a hotel. Great for a couple of nights rest or a long-term stay if you are visiting family and friends. Either way, this hidden gem offers what most Victoria accommodation options don’t, choices.
That is the view of Spinnakers Gastropub and brewhouse as seen from the walking/biking trail. What you don’t see are the guesthouses that make up the rest of the property. Located behind the pub are the parking lot and entrance for both the restaurant and front desk check-ins.
I arrived before check-in was allowed, but was able to store my bags at the front desk while I grabbed a coffee and went for a walk along the beautiful waterfront trail. You can follow this trail all the way to downtown or take a water taxi to a stop in front of the Provincial legislature and Fairmont Empress hotel. From Spinnakers to the Empress the walk takes about 25 mins.
After filling in all the paperwork for check-in I’m excited to see my room for the next 3 nights. I know it is going to be relaxing because the entire route to the guesthouse is lined with flowers and shrubs offering a “home-like” atmosphere. Once I’m inside I couldn’t have been more right. The suite is enormous and with the kitchen equipped as it was, I could stay here for a month with no worries.
Let me take you on a tour.
Is that not fantastic?
Now depending on the Victoria accommodation package you booked, breakfast may or may not be included. For me it was. Even if it is not included I highly recommend you venture to the restaurant for brekkie at least once. Doesn’t my Yukon Gold Ham Hash look delish? It tasted even better I can promise.
Of course, you should enjoy more than breakfast at Spinnakers. As I shared in an early story the craft beer and pub scene in Victoria is off the charts. Spinnakers has been at the forefront of that for 34 years and you’d be remiss if you didn’t sample their amazing assortment of craft beers brewed right on premise. DYK that Spinnakers is the first brewpub in Canada to open in the modern post-prohibition era?
There are a lot of reasons to love Spinnakers, great beer, locally sourced menu and now you can add an amazing guesthouse to the list. I stayed for 3 nights but you can be sure I’ll be back here again when I plan a longer visit.
