How To Sleep Like A Prince At The Hotel Saskatchewan

Have you ever wondered how a Prince sleeps? How about where a Prince would sleep if he came to visit your city? In Regina, you can find the answer to both questions at the Hotel Saskatchewan, Autograph Collection on Victoria Avenue. The Prince Phillip Suite is a home away from home for any of the Royal Family when they visit the Saskatchewan’s capital city and it can also be yours. If you want to sleep like a queen then you’d book the Royal Suite located right next door. I’m happy sleeping like a Prince and for three nights this summer that is exactly what I did.

The Hotel Saskatchewan opened in 1927 to much fanfare and celebration. It was the fourteenth hotel to open under the ownership of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It lakes the outside grandeur of the chateau-styled earlier hotels built by CP rail yet it still maintains an impressive spot in the city’s skyline.

Now part of Marriott International as part of the luxury boutique Autograph Collection, the Hotel Saskatchewan offers all the perks and amenities business and leisure travellers ask for. On-premise spa facilities, gym and even a barber shop and shoe shine station. My favourite amenity though has to be the independent coffee shop located across from registration. Cafe Royale makes a perfect Americano every time.

The Hotel Saskatchewan recently underwent renovations and the attention to detail is evident from the lobby all the way to the rooms. Just look at the lobby, Circa 27 lounge/bar and even the brightly polished Royal Mail box outside of the elevators. DO you remember a time when we used to send mail? #WishYouWereHere

As for the Prince Phillip Suite. Let me take you on a tour. Modern bathroom and a spacious living area complete with an office desk and bar area if you feel inclined to hosts some friends.

One of the features I loved has to be the spectacular views of Regina as seen from my windows. Completely unobstructed sunset photos are just begging to be taken when you have a view like this.

There is only one thing left to complete my stay and to enjoy sleeping like a Prince at the Hotel Saskatchewan. It’s breakfast in bed of course. A Prince never leaves bed without his breakfast. Eggs Benny and a full pot of coffee to get my day of adventure started.

What does it cost to sleep in the Prince Phillip Suite? For a mere $180-$270 (price varies depending on season and availability) a night you too can sleep like a Prince. Sweet dreams.
