What’s dinner without a Top Chef Cooking for you!

In keeping with the apparent food theme this week I got a chance to meet and taste some great food at Chef Trevor Bird’s new restaurant Fable Kitchen. You may recognize Trevor’s name and face. He was the runner-up in Season 2 of Top Chef Canada which just aired this past Monday.

Fable Restaurant

Fable is located at 1944 West 4th Ave in Kitsilano at the former Refuel and boasts a “farm to table with modern Canadian food”. I got a brief chat with Chef Trevor & Chef Curtis Lok (also of Top Chef Canada) before the festivities got under way.

Check out some of the pics from the night. It was a tough job but I sampled the delicious food for you. YUMMY!

That farm feel

If you are a Top Chef junkie then here is a great opportunity for you to meet 3 from this season. On Saturday June 9th Chef Trevor Bird, along with Chef Jimmy Stewart, Chef Curtis Luk and the Fable crew, will prepare the meal Trevor created on the Top Chef Canada Finale (along with some surprises!).   The meals will be paired with the amazing wines of Painted Rock Winery and John Skinner will be in attendance to speak to the wines. It’s a chance to meet some people as well because seating is family style. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Take A Hike Foundation. Doors open at 6pm with dinner service beginning at 6:30pm. Tickets are $150/person and you can contact kathy@fablekitchen for tickets. I bet these are going to sell out fast!

So if you can’t attend a new restaurant opening then why not pick a part of town and pick a restaurant you’ve never been to before and give them a try. Make it a date night Smile

My next adventure explores some of the cool and fun shops at the Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver.
